Our names are Sheila Smith-Ramirez(Emily Garcia's Mother) and Theresa Yeary-Dontrich(Emily's Aunt). We would like to appeal to the public for help in trying to find the person(s) responsible for abducting, raping, and murdering Emily Jeanette Garcia in San Antonio.

Her body was found inCanyon Lake, Texas on February 25, 1993.

Emily was not famous, she didn't come from a rich family who has influence in society, but she was loved by her family. We all know how the system works, the people who have money and influence in life, get a lot more attention than just ordinary people, but don't you think every child that is abducted should be treated the same? Well, Emily wasn't!! As far as the media, the only articles written were about the Jane Doe and that was just to see if anyone knew her. The police didn't seem to think the case was too important and still don't. Well, it is to our family and that is why we are asking for help from anyone who may know anything at all. If this was your child, don't you feel that he/she would deserve the same as anyone else, no matter what the circumstances were? WELL, SO DO WE!!!!

Emily was abducted on February 12, 1993 from San Antonio and was held and tortured for 13 days until she was finally murdered on February 25, 1993 and her body taken to Canyon Lake, Texas and dumped in a secluded wooded area. Her body was found several hours later by a road crew that was working in the area to clean up after a storm that had hit the area the night before.

Emily was only 15 years old at the time of her murder and was also pregnant with a little boy which she had intended to name Emilio after herself.

This was nearly 17 years ago and we don't seem to be much closer to finding the monster(s) responsible for taking Emily and Emilio from us than we were when it first happened. We work daily on Emily's case to try to find leads and information on her case, but have not had very much cooperation from police or other professionals that are working the case too.

There are so many discrepancies in Emily's case and so many unanswered questions that we have and that we can't seem to get anyone to help us with, so we have decided to put all of it on Emily's Memorial Web Site in hopes that someone will see it and have the kind heart to help us or tell us what we can do to finally find answers to our question and justice for Emily and her unborn son Emilio.

This monster(s) is still on our streets and will do this again if not stopped. We would never want another family to have to endure the horrors that we have had to since Emily's murder.

Also we feel that Emily deserves justice for the horrible way she had to die and we won't give up trying to find it till the day we die.

If there is ANYONE checking this site or reading this that may have known Emily Jeanette Garcia(even slightly) or knows of someone else who may have known her, we beg of you to please call us or send us an email and help us. Or if you have any piece of information(no matter how small you feel it may be) please contact us. We have been waiting for justice for nearly 17 years now and need your help so we can finally put Emily's soul to rest peacefully. Even if the information you may have about Emily seems small and meaningless to you, it may just be the key that would finally help us.
